the perfect storm in a teacup

once again, this will be a hodgepodge entry.

i found out today that my parents put our dog kelli down. she would have been 17 this october. i know we were lucky to have her in our lives so long, but it still sucks that they had to put her to sleep. i'm bummed i couldn't be there. and that i didn't get to see her one last time. it's yet another thing that makes me question if i should live so far from my family.

i talked to my oldest brother and found out that they are having a boy. he's due sometime early november. it's crazy that i'm going to have a 4th nephew. too many boys! but it'll probably be good for my niece to have a brother. hopefully it will keep her from being a total priss!

i'm excited about jimmy choo's collaboration with h&m. since i am still years away from being able to afford his regular shoes, i can at least pretend with h&m. while some may think it devalues his actual line, i'm ok with it. it's at least better than complete hacks copying the designs and selling them for $10, right?

as a random side note, when did prince harry become cuter than prince will?

i started a twitter account for myself (twitter/snoflakefaerie) and one for my boss. we'll see if either really goes anywhere. i also started a couple tumblelogs. one for posting random shit i like (pictures, songs, videos, links, etc) jennyjewels and one specifically as a look blog pamplemousse et anana.

and finally my to do list:
-<s>bracelets</s>
-resume to earthwatch
-<s>postcards for postcrossing</s>
-call Andy
-<s>new paper journal
-clean apartment
-laundry</s>
-mail sasha's book
-pay car excise
-parking tickets

guess that's it for now.

once again, i need to focus more on my 101 goals. so here are a few things i'd like to accomplish/do in this next coming month.

- check out <s>bleacher bar</s>, one of the liberty hotel places or rumba (possibly on a date)
- maybe do my reading Thoreau in a boat on Walden pond thing
- hit up the beach
- get my bike tuned so i can start riding it
- change the oil in my car
- start doing some running/yoga
- finish to the lighthouse
- <s>send out my postcrossing postcards</s>

that seems like a decent amount of stuff, in addition to the monthly/weekly goals i should be working on (but have been remiss about) anyway.

left down here among the sons of cain

i made it out to seattle for the sox games. i wish i could have been out there for longer, but it was nice to make it at all. so i flew in friday. i had to catch a connecting flight in nyc and was afraid that i wouldn't make it on the flight to seattle since it was filled with sox fans heading out to the game. but apparently, luck was in my favor. so got picked up by buzz and his lady friend. had some stegos and then headed off to the game. it was weird because we had a whole fucking section to ourselves. stupid mariners fans not being in to baseball. it was a bummer though because the sox lost. so we went to a bar near nigel's to sing some karaoke. a guy there sang sweet caroline to us, which was pretty hilarious. kfc and buzz sang a song and got cut off. overall, fairly entertaining. after breakfast on saturday, i spent much of it recuperating. the guys played boccie and got pretty drunkles. we then bbq'd some delicious food and headed off to the game. that night was much better. we were actually around some people and the sox won. sunday was an afternoon game. everyone was pretty much exhausted from the weekend of drinking, so we were pretty tame. buzz and his gf took off after the game and i sat around with nigel and his roommate waiting for my flight, which didn't leave until 1130pm. ugh. overnight flights suck. especially when stuck in a middle seat. oh well. it was definitely worth it to go out there.

work is starting to suck more and more. i found out that they posted a listing on cl for someone new, so i think i'm on my way out regardless. while i definitely want a new job, i am a bit freaked out about looking for a one. these past couple years have just been so tough and shitty, i have lost a lot of confidence in myself. i am afraid that i have no skills and will suck at anything i do. ugh. i feel like i'm in this sort of job purgatory. i don't know what i want to do. i don't know what will make me happy. i don't know what i'm good at or can succeed in doing. and i feel like my skills are useless in anything besides sampling for contaminated groundwater. so yeah.

in some more positive parts of life, my softball team has been doing well. we won 2 of our last 3 games. it's been fun hanging out afterwards, too. it makes me happy that we have clicked and can be friends on and off the field. i guess that's a plus to scamming a lot of people from the kickball team. but it's also nice that the doctor people have integrated nicely. in semi-related news, kickball starts next weekend. i'm wondering what this new division will be like since ironsides disbanded. hopefully it's still a good mix of competition and socializing. but also, hopefully we dominate again!

things have been going pretty well with the boat engineer. we've been spending a lot of time together, which i'm not entirely sure is a good idea, but it's happening anyway. it's still in that infatuation phase where everything is fun and exciting. and so of course, i want to hang out as much as possible. we've gone to a couple sox games, he comes out to karaoke, and we've done some other random hanging out. he took me out to dinner on thursday to yankee lobster. i was craving a lobster roll and had never been there before, so we tried it out. it was fun. i'm trying not to freak out prematurely about stuff. so we'll see how long that lasts. it's just tough keeping myself from acting like i normally do. sigh.

derby party!

the derby party was this weekend. i think it turned out really well. a good group of people came over. we had some yummy food. it was a gorgeous day. my hat was awesome.

afterwards, we went out in the city and hit up dillons. we caught the end of the celtics game, which was good. i started talking to some guys sitting next to us and they wanted to do a shot to celebrate the celtics win. i told them they clearly had to do a shot of bourbon since it was derby day. they got me one, too and that was pretty much the end of me. cadillac made fun of me because apparently they guy i was talking to looks like the boat engineer. i guess marcelo is completely right about my type.

anyway, aside from the party being fun, there wasn't really a whole lot to update about it. which is probably a good thing. no crazy drama. so pretty much, i can't wait for next year!

not much else happened this weekend. cadillac and i went to waltham for some divebar karaoke. it was alright. not a whole lot of people were into it, so we got to sing multiple times, which was good, but the selection was small, so that wasn't so great. i was supposed to have softball practice today, but i was way too tired from the party, so that didn't happen. essentially, i just hung around the apartment watching the sox and bad movies.

i think tomorrow, we're going to check out the new harpoon beer at the middle east. they are having a tasting for friends, so hopefully it's worth it. i heard a few people say they weren't into it, but they are not fans of white beers, so i don't really trust their opinions. aside from that, i think i'm going to the sox game on thursday (with the boat engineer), which i'm excited about. and then our softball game isn't until friday. i had planned to go home for mother's day weekend and stay the week in colorado; then fly out to portland, stay with buzz for a few days and then head to seattle for the sox games, but i'm not entirely sure that plan is going to work. bah! but if not, then hopefully i can at least hit up seattle and then spend a few days in colorado (for my bro's bday) and then come back to boston. we'll see what the boss says.

ending on an error

april has been a bit of a crazy month since getting back from spring training. it doesn't help that april is a shit-tastic month for me in general, but i seem to have brought back the year of "bold moves, bad decisions".

bowling and dodgeball went pretty well. cadillac and i missed out on our dodgeball finals since we went to the celtics game, but it was worth it. the game was fun (though we left before they ended up winning, which was sad). that night was pretty funny, in general. i got hit on by cute barback and a guy, who, for lack of a better term, i'm going to call boat engineer (yep, i found another). both of whom are younger than me, which creeps me out a bit, but everyone i mention it to says it's not that big of a deal, so i guess i'm going to go with it for now.

went to the boston bar golf pub crawl the weekend before last. we kind of sucked at crawling since we didn't leave the bell in hand the entire night. in the tradition of bold moves, bad decisions, i stuck my business card in the back of some cops pocket. honestly, i'm not sure what i was thinking, but thouht it was a really good idea because i did it to the door guy, too. wtf. at any rate, it was fun dressing up in golf attire. i got to wear some plaid pants and my pink polo. it also reminded me how much fun i have at theme parties. i wish i had more of them in my life. at some point, cadillac and i hit up boylston to cause some trouble. that was the same week that cadillac slapped two guys. hilarious! there has also been lots of sligos in the mix. and this past weekend, we hung out in harvard sq at charlie's. i saw the two dans there which was great because i haven't seen them in forever. boat engineer and his friends met up with us there, and we hung out with them afterward. on saturday, lady t's friend had a house party in slummerville. it was a cute party, "economic stimulus" themed, where they printed out their own money to buy beers and play beirut with. oh we also, hung out with t-bex on the rooftop. i may or may not have knocked on irish mick's skylight. hehe.

sunday was the sox game against the yankees. i got some bleacher tickets from a little magic faerie and went with cadillac. we got to see jacoby steal home and the sox sweep the series. pretty freaking awesome. but of course, bold moves, bad decisions reared its head and so we got tacos and margaritas afterward and met up with one of our friends that works at fenway. overall, it was a great night/game, but holy shit, i totally overdid the socializing this weekend. eek. i am exhausted. but hopefully, i will be rejuvenated by the time the derby party rolls around this weekend (and have enough energy to get everything done that i need to).

that's probably the extent of bold moves, bad decisions.

since this is the epic update, i figure i should continue on. softball has started off fairly well. we won our first game, but lost last night. by one freaking run. it was so sad :( i was afraid our team wasn't going to have enough people and now it feels like we have way too many. ugh. i don't really know how to fix that. so i'll just hope that the people i thought would flake actually do. eek! i am still getting the hang of managing, but i think i'll get there. i think my scoring skills need some work, too. i was looking back at the first game i scored, which was a twins-rays game at spring training in 05. i was almost able to decipher the majority of it. but regardless, it's fun to have records of games like that. anyway, i may start scoring some of the sox games on tv, just to get used to it again. it's been too long!

i am trying to get both home for mother's day and then out to seattle for the sox games. my boss's gf pulled some shit with me last week and suggested i take time off (seriously, wtf). so i thought that it would be fine, but now she seems totally different and i'm afraid that if i'm like, yeah, i am going to take some time off and regroup with my fam, they'll go ripshit. ugh. i can't handle it. but that's a story for another time. i guess i'll bring it up and see what happens.

i guess that's about it. made it through the anniversary, which is good. planted some flowers to celebrate life and spring and all that jazz. the deck looks very nice with the window boxes. enjoying all the sports goodness happening in the city right now. and pretty soon, kickball starts! lots to look forward to. which is good. i needed that to get through this month....

mission complete

the rest of vacation has gone pretty well.

we saw boston play the twins at city of palms. the sox whupped the twins pretty nicely. we had dinner with my uncle at a nice seafood/sushi place. i had met some umass grads at the game, so i met up with them later in ft myers beach at a place called the lani kai "resort", that had a bar right on the beach. i felt neither towny enough nor touristy enough to be there, but stayed regardless. thankfully, i did not get drugged or stabbed and generally, i was entertained. lots of people to watch and make fun of. the guy who invited me out tried to kiss me, but i declined. i said i don't kiss on vacation, which is pretty much a lie, but i didn't really know what to say and that's the first thing that came to mind. some crazy 50 y/o lady decided we needed to hang out when i am visiting and insisted on getting my number. so odd. but like i said, highly entertaining.

yesterday was rainy, so we didn't go to the game against the cards and instead, my aunt and i went shopping. i probably should have refrained from purchasing anything, but i suck at that, so i ended up getting some silver flats and a yellow leather jacket. well fake leather, but whatever. it's still cute. i can't wait to wear them, but sadly, i can't wear both at the same time, so one will have to wait.

today we saw the twins play the rays again. this game was much closer, but the twins still eked out the win. saw shoe, which was fun. he gave me a batting practice ball because i might as well be a 5 y/o kid. man, it is so nice to be outside in the sun watching baseball. i am sad that the vacation has to come to an end, but at least i extended the stay by a day. so inasmuch, i leave tomorrow around 4. enough time to catch one last game, against the pirates. and then, once i return, it won't be much longer until the baseball season officially begins, so i guess life isn't that bad.....

i don't know enough girls

so, i am joining a softball league. and trying to start my own team. this is great. except that i don't know enough girls. we need 5 of them on the team. and currently, it's just me and cadillac. how is it that i don't know 3 other girls who would be into it? what is wrong with me? all of a sudden, i am frustrated by my inability to make friends with girls.

anyway, in other news (well it's not really news), i think this weekend will be fun. and hopefully a little more relaxing than last weekend. while last weekend was great, i felt i didn't have any downtime and that wasn't so great. i am bummed though because i am usually down in ft myers for spring training by now, but that didn't happen this year due to work shit. fucking work. i really need a new jorb.

in happy news, i protested a ticket today and it got dismissed! it was the guy's birthday, so i think he was in a good mood and being nice. i'll take it! now, hopefully, i can avoid getting any more parking tickets. they are such a hassle.

and lastly, i have decided t.v. needs more half naked men on it.

a random mix of adventures have happened. the week had it's ups and downs. dodgeball was good. we won 8 out of 11 i believe. karaoke like usual afterward. i sang some whitney houston because i am totally excited about kickball and can't wait for it to begin again. however, before dodgeball, cadillac and i went to harpoon for a beer tasting. good times.

thursday i had a date with the golfer, the guy i met at the joshua tree a few weeks ago. we grabbed a couple beers at the littlest bar. i'm not sure if he is just very normal or maybe a little boring or if it was just awkward because the bar was loud, but i am not sure how much we clicked. however, i am willing to hang out with him some more to figure it out.

friday, cadillac and i tried to be productive and work on our resumes. i didn't do so well at that. we ended up going to friday night faceoff at ib. it wasn't quite as funny the time we went before, but it was entertaining. we hung out at tavern after that. and then went to b-nuts's to play cards a bit. nothing big or crazy, but fun. i had to do some personal assisting the next day, but made sure to make it out to machine for sin-o-matic night. i didn't really have anything proper to wear, so i wore underwear. sweet. i was surprisingly not as mortified or uncomfortable as i thought i would be. i don't really know if that is a good thing or not though.

i crashed bowling on sunday. i was rolling like shit, but that's fine since i'm not actually on the team. we all went out to la verdad and then who's on first after that. probably shouldn't have, but oh well. the boy from bowling that i have a crush on was at who's and was drunk as shit. we called him over and he tried making out with me. i was not really expecting that. according to his drunken-self, he is into me but thought i was actually engaged. whoops. maybe i should not actually have that on my fb profile. oh well. after all that silliness, i took some of the peeps from bowling and crashed an oscar party of a kid i had met at karaoke. yep.

it was definitely a weekend full of random things. i mean, who gets their tongue licked? actually, i should probably ask who licks someone's tongue back? oh right, me. and fetish night? yep. good stuff. i totally ended up flashing some dudes while we were getting pizza at little stevie's after.

and now for the most part, i am just counting down the days until baseball starts. or kickball. or perhaps the softball team that i might be joining starts. or perhaps i will join a soccer league. i think the point is that it needs to get warm outside and fast.

talk about the weather, or how the weather used to be

this is once again going to be a timelineish update.

the babydolls show went well. i was surprised by how many of my friends were able to make it out. someone ended up coming every night of the show, which was really awesome of them. overall, for my first theater experience, i think it was good. it was a lot of long hours and a little bit more time-intensive than i had originally thought it was going to be, but that's fine. i'm thinking i may volunteer to help out again sometime as it was a positive experience.

i am now trying to catch up on all the things i neglected over the last week. filed my taxes, did some laundry, cleaned a bit. there is still so much left to do though. bleck.

i'm supposed to go out with the cute guy from the bar on thursday. he's a golf instructor, so i'm going to call him the golfer from now on. i'm slightly nervous 1) because it's been so long since we met (or so it seems) and 2) i was in social-outgoing mode when we met and don't know if i'm feeling that way this week. so i'm afraid i won't be that entertaining/talkative. i'd like to find something that would allow us to talk, but if the conversation wasn't flowing so well, we could distract ourselves with whatever it is that we are doing. however, i have no ideas thus far. and thequestionclub isn't being so helpful with things to do.

i am excited about a few things: dodgeball starts again tonight. the team is small this time, so it looks like cadillac and i might be the only girls on the team and have to play all the time. that's cool. also, harpoon is having a tasting tomorrow that she and i are going to before the game. hehe. it could be trouble, but i'm sure it'll be worth it, and fun.

i'm also trying to finagle a way to make it down to fl for spring training. my boss is being a bit of an ass, so it may be hard, but i really want to catch some baseball. and i think my psyche could use a bit of vacation.

there are probably more things i am forgetting, but my laundry is done and i am tired, so it will have to wait.

short update?

weekend was fun. i hung out with cadillac and her friends from college. they are awesome ladies. so much fun. we went out to johnny d's on friday. there were some dirty hippies there, but it wasn't so bad. we saw some band called milo z. we spent, the next day sitting around, watching movies, silly stuff. then went out on a bar crawl for a girl that i should have known years ago, apparently. we know mutual people from northeastern. i also met some kid who apparently went sailing in the virgin islands with THE EX. so odd. i don't know how i feel about the world (my world?) being that small, but whatever. then today was rehearsal for the show. i really hope i don't fuck up too badly..... but irregardlesslywise, it'll be a fun show. oh, i also met a cute boy. i'm hoping to hang out with him after the show is done. we'll see what happens.

some sort of timeline

in bulletish form:

-leathal weapon's bday at people's republik, got sick. felt like dying.
- spent a week recuperating. unsavory everything happened. sad there was no violence.
- had babydolls rehearsals. think it's going to be super cute. wish i was a real dancer.
- had dodgeball. our team did pretty awesome. recruited girls when we were short. made an amazing catch with my neck/face, then tagged the last opposing team member to win game. got hit in the ass a lot, should probably work on having a smaller ass. missed finals, but we didn't make it past the 2nd round.
- did karaoke. panic, safety dance, jealousy, before he cheats. all were fun, loved safety dance the best.
- saw friends in friday night faceoff. who knew improv could be funny?
- got AWESOME orange leather coat. need ridiculous outing to wear it. probably just wear it to the asgard to continue this tradition.
- did some bowling. scored 2nd highest on team for the night. never gonna do that well again. tried to flirt with hawkeye. denied.
- had end of bowling season party. team sucked at flipcup. night was odd in general.
- went out/dancing. noir (see below), phoenix landing (germans), silvertone (ok), beantown pub (hot bartender), the point (barf), good life (michael chang!), green st (made a fool in front of someone i thought was brian tinger), sanctuary (barf), clerys (barf). cute outfits though. good people. so, great.
- trivia with your face is. lost our shit in the 4th quarter, like always.
- friends making out with friends. me making out because of the promise ring.
- superbowl. won $25, should have won more. fuck you ben roethlisberger.
- was a "bitch", just don't know enough pop culture, thought i was making inside joke. oops. guess i lost a "friend" due to it. oh well.
- omg why can't i remember more of my life. this will have to do.
- can't wait for spades, vm, supernatural, and the next week. it's gonna be crazy.

the 25 random things is spreading

I got tagged to do this on facebook, but am posting this here, too. mostly so i have a record of it.

1. On the website vitalstatistics.info, the picture associated with the stat "last year before 2008 that a player got a walkoff winning hit in his major league debut" is one I took of Paul Janish at spring training. I'm pretty sure that's the only time anyone has used a picture I've taken for anything.

2. Despite my intense lack of musical talent, I have played the clarinet, flute, oboe, piano and drums. I occasionally think of trying to play the oboe again, but I doubt that will happen.

3. I have enough clothing and shoes that I can wear a different outfit for every day of the month without needing to use a piece twice. I'm pretty sure that includes undergarments as well.

4. I'm not-so-secretly a thirteen year old girl. My favorite shows include: Gilmore Girls, Degrassi: TNG, Greek, Veronica Mars and Supernatural.

5. My nickname in high school was Buffy. Some of my friends thought I looked like Sarah Michelle Gellar. They also insisted of taping a picture of her up on my locker.

6. I've been on the cover of the Rocky Mountain News twice. One was a picture of me with my clarinet for a story on "promising" high school freshman. The other was of my ass as I was leaning on a friend's car after she had passed. My mom pointed it out to me by saying, "I know my kids' butts!"

7. The first rock concert I went to was Queensryche, Type O Negative, and if I recall correctly, Faith No More. It was an indoor arena, and our seats were in the last row at the top. That was the day I discovered I was allergic to weed as I got extremely sick from all the second-hand pot smoke.

8. In 2003, I decided to make a goal of kissing a guy from every state before I get married and/or die. I obtained Mississippi while I was traveling in Germany. I'm about halfway to completing the list.

9. In 2006, I attended 20 games in one season at Fenway. I think I used up all my ticket-getting-mojo as I haven't been able to get tickets at a reasonable price since then.

10. I have two irrational phobias. One is of birds. I was crossing Newbury St and dropped in the middle of the intersection like a bomb went off to avoid a sparrow diving at my head. The other is of the dark/monsters. I sometimes run to my bed because I am scared of something attacking me from the closet or under my bed.

11. I love karaoke but find that I don't know that many popular songs. As a result, I fall back on songs from Ace of Base, Madonna, Queen, and Natalie Merchant. I really wish punk rock karaoke were a common thing.

12. There are 3 physical traits I definitely obtained from my father: my nose, crooked fingers, and one of my bottom teeth is out of line.

13. Prior to this winter, I think I had bowled less than 5 times in my life. Now I'm in two bowling leagues. As a result of being in these leagues, I am participating in a flipcup tournament tomorrow. I've played flipcup once before in my life, so I'm sure I will not be the MVP.

14. I joined a kickball team this summer. We won our division and are hopefully going to Las Vegas for the national tournament in October. I've never been to Vegas before and will probably married Tony while we're there.

15. I have an uncanny attraction to engineers/physicists. 9 times out of 10, if I'm at a party or bar, the guy I end up talking with is some sort of engineer or scientist.

16. I have one cousin, and he's 12 years younger than me. Despite having 4 uncles and one aunt, only one of them had a child.

17. The most memorable embarrassing moment for me was my sophomore year of high school. My english teacher had just yelled at us for being too loud. The room was absolutely silent when I got up to spit out my gum. I leaned over the trashcan and all of a sudden, my head got really heavy and I smacked it on a pencil sharpener. I swear the sound reverberated around the room. Everyone looked up and started laughing, including my teacher. To this day, I can't figure out why I lost control of my head.

18. I'm performing in my first theatrical performance ever. It's a burlesque show,Unlucky in Love, with the Boston Babydolls. Even though it's a small part as a stage kitten, I'm super excited and nervous for it.

19. My favorite brewery is Dogfish Head. My favorite beer is tied between pumpkin ale and raspberry chocolate porter. Even in my beer choice, I'm such a girl.

20. Ted Leo and the Pharmacists are one of my favorite bands. At one of their shows, Ted walked behind me, and I accidentally checked him with my ass. It was like I had an ass-spasm. The greatest part is that Ted apologized to me.

21. I currently have a cat named Marzipan and a betta fish named Dexter. I got Dexter because he was part of a center piece at a wedding I went to a few years ago, and they were just going to throw him away. There were 2 of them that I took home, but Marzipan ate betta #1 before I could name him or put him in a proper bowl. She's tried a couple times to get Dexter, but so far he's survived her attacks.

22. My favorite author is Paulo Coelho. My favorite novel of his is By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept. I reread it approximately once a year. Part of what I love about him is his ability to tell a simple fable that can have as much meaning as you'd like to take from it.

23. I read the Celestine Prophecy in 8th grade and ever since then, I have been able to see auras. It sounds kind of hokey, but I find it doesn't compete with my scientific viewpoints.

24. I drove 14 hours to Phoenix the summer of 2001 for Jimmy Eat World's hometown release show for Bleed American. They had a contest for people to win tickets to the soundcheck and a Q&A with the band before the show. We left late the night before, went to soundcheck upon arriving, took a nap, rocked out at the show, then left early the next morning. It was one of the shortest, most last minute trips I've ever taken, but was absolutely amazing.

25. I ride a Never Summer Lite snowboard. Her name is Faloola. I don't ride very often, so she's the only board I've ever owned, but I'm completely satisfied with her.

won't you say my name to me

the enjoyable thing about breakups is that i incessantly listen to madonna. old school, fucking awesome madonna. and often, i forget how much i love it (the music, not the actual breaking up). i dance around in my (new) underwear, singing i know it at the top of my lungs. and it fucking rocks. of course, i also listen to slightly more depressing music like jets to brazil, i hate myself, and american football, but even in doing that, i am reminded of how much i love that kind of music. and that i miss it. and that i definitely don't spend enough time dancing around, singing at the top of my lungs. so if i am going to have any sort of resolution for the new year, it is to do more of that.

something i have also been enjoying recently is fx's multiple showings of the day after tomorrow. 4 times in a week? yes please. i cannot get enough of jake gyllenhaal. yum.

i have not really been enjoying this fucking flu or cold or whatever is it that i am experiencing. and against my better judgment, i am going to bowling tonight. hopefully, it does not fuck me over.

i am also looking for a new job. there is only so much egotistical maniac that a girl can handle, and i think maybe i have reached my limit. it's probably not the best environment to go looking for a job, but such is life.

man, i really thought this entry might be more entertaining. oh well.

my theatrical debut!

i took the boston baby dolls instant burlesque queen class a few years back and they sent out an email to past students asking if anyone would be interested in being a stage kitten for their upcoming valentine's show, unlucky in love. last night, i went down to the studio and got the part. there are going to be 3 or 4 of us, two playing cupids (one good, one bad) and the others being assistants to the acts. it's a little undefined what part i will be playing at the moment, but i'm pretty sure i will be the good cupid. i won't be taking any of my clothes off, as i don't think that i would be brave enough to do that as my first experience on stage, but at least, i should be appearing in many of the acts.

anyway, i'm super excited about this. i think it'll be a lot of fun. it runs 10th through the 14th of february at the arlington center for the arts. tuesday is an open dress rehearsal, so tickets are cheap for that night. if you are interested, come out!

i should really learn to trust my intuition

sigh. the comedian and i are no longer. things had been not so great for a while, but i had kind of hoped i'd pull myself out of my anti-social funk. oh well. it's not like i didn't see it coming. we had a conversation a while back about how things weren't great. i should know that once that conversation happens the relationship can never recover. and i should just have the balls at the time to trust myself and not try to resuscitate something that's dying.

on a slightly more annoying note: why do i always order a bunch of underwear and then get dumped!?!

i've been neglecting my 101 list a bit lately, so this is what i need to focus on doing this week:

1. call sasha
2. get together list of addresses for christmas cards
3. drink a bunch of water one day
4. make a salad
5. make ticket reservations/call mom
6. work out/do some yoga
7. do the sunday crossword puzzle
8. play on freerice.com

one would think it wouldn't be too hard to get this list taken care of, but i know i suck at getting stuff done. hopefully at least having it in front of me will remind me to get stuff done.
